Our gate mechanisms for column skips are fitted and adjusted in our workshop to guarantee an assembly of the highest quality and reliability.
The gate mechanism is bolted to the skip and all SECATOL skips have a common fastening flange which allows them to accommodate different types of SECATOL gate mechanisms.
Being the critical part of the column skip, the mechanism is made of different steels to ensure its longevity. For example the most exposed parts to the concrete flow are made of high abrasion resistant steels.
Gate mechanisms can be supplied in different diameters: 90, 150, 200 and 250mm (column skips are delivered as standard with 200 mm diameter).
When renewing the gate mechanism of a SECATOL column skip, you can – in most cases – change the gate type model and fit the latest generation of mechanism (TI Kit).

TI mechanism
Operation : Opening of the gate with lever and automatic spring return for closing.
Advantages :
- Large funnel : any leakage from the gate is directed into the discharge hose via the funnel
- Funnel is easily removed without tools :
- The quick release funnels are available with 90mm, 150mm, 200mm and 250mm diameter
- Various diameters of discharge hose available for more flexibility
- The funnel hinges down to facilitate the cleaning of the gate mechanism
TU mechanism
Operation : Opening of the gate with lever and automatic spring return for closing.
Advantages :
- The gate is manufactured to the highest standards with machined hinge pins fitted with grease points, heavy duty integral gate to ensure continuation of concrete flow
- Numerous accessories :
o Quick release mechanism to allow the user to easily detach the discharge hose by simply removing the lock pin and twisting the bottom section. This allows both access to the discharge gate shutter mechanism for cleaning and, when additional bottom sections and hose assembly’s are used, allows different lengths and diameters of hose to be quickly interchanged.
o Discharge chute that can be used in conjunction with the standard quick release fitting to enable concrete to be poured into structures where access is a problem.
TE mechanism
Operation : Opening of the gate with a hand wheel and automatic spring return for closing.
Advantages : The hand wheel allows a more precise control of the flow of concrete. In addition to the hand wheel, for situations where the operator cannot use it, the mechanism is also fitted with a lever to allow opening at distance with a rope.
TV mechanism
Operation : Wheel or lever operation
Advantage : The TV gate is 200mm diameter and is ideally suited to very fluid self compacting concrete. The valve is fitted with a rubber seal to prevent any leakage with the option of wheel or lever operation.
